Mike and I had GC’d our two restaurants in Portland Maine. We were getting ‘good’ at it. However, we both agreed that w/ the lease signed in Harvard Sq for our third (though most visible) location, and with the ‘rent clock ticking’, that we had better get a contractor that understood our timetable as well as one that understood and had experience w/ the City of Cambridge & City Inspectional Services. I had been a commercial Restaurant Broker in Boston for almost 10 yrs. and I had seen restaurants ‘go under’ while waiting for permitting & Licenses. We could not afford to gamble w/ our investment in Cambridge. We asked for recommendations from the Harvard Sq Business Assoc and we were referred to Pat of Casla Construction. I had interviewed 3 other contractors but I knew w/in minutes of meeting Pat and discussing our project that Pat was our ‘Man for the job’. Indeed, we chose well: Getting OTTO open, on time and on budget was as much a priority for Pat and his team of subs as it was for us. Pat was meticulous in his planning: from the first meeting w/ City Inspectors to the last, Pat was always one step ahead of what we being asked for by the inspectors.

After a blown sprinkler-head due to the extreme cold weather, Pat and his team worked to repair and to get open as if it was his money on the line. We highly recommend CASLA and implore anyone looking at a project to speak w/ and meet CASLA to see what they can do for you.
